Laura has over 8 years of clinical experience in a specialist children’s hospital\, having significant experience undertaking a variety of living and Post-Mortem Skeletal Surveys on children. Laura has undertaken an MSc in Forensic Radiography\, is the Secretary & Communications Officer for the UK branch of the IAFR\, and a member of the IAFR DVI response register. \n\nAlongside teaching undergraduate students on the Diagnostic Radiography & Medical Imaging programme\, Laura is Co-PI for the Portsmouth Child Death Immersion Programme (CDIP). This course brings together healthcare professionals and police in a simulation-based investigation of a suspicious child death. Laura also co-directs the University of Portsmouth element of SIMEX- a mass casualty exercise bringing together registered healthcare professionals and students to undertake a large-scale\, immersive simulation. \nProf Steve Naidoo\, South Africa\nDr. Steve R. Naidoo is an independent\, registered Forensic Pathologist in South Africa. He has a vast experience of around 38 years in forensic pathology. He also worked as joint academic staff of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) for 18 years and for 8 years\, he also worked as Associate Professor and Head of the UKZN Department of Forensic Medicine. He was a member of several professional societies including Forensic Advisory Board of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC); National Forensic Pathology Services Committee (NFPSC) of the National Department of Health. He was the research fellow at School of Law at UKZN until January 2016. He is the first Chair of the African Society of Forensic Medicine (ASFM). He is one of the listed expert on the Justice Rapid Response Association (Geneva\, Switzerland). He completed his graduation and post-graduation in medical field from University of Natal\, Kwazulu Natal. He has also done a diploma of medicine from College of Medicine of South Africa in 1985. She has previously worked as the Clinical Educator at The Canberra\nHospital\, where she collaborated with the ICU Critical Care team and the ACT Donate Life team to\nprovide education to staff around imaging for brain death and organ donation.\nDr Rohit D’Costa is an intensive care physician at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the State Medical\nDirector of DonateLife Victoria. \nBrain death occurs when there is irreversible loss of all functions of the brain\, including the\nbrainstem. Determination of whole brain death is required for the legal determination of death in\nAustralia and New Zealand. If brain death cannot be determined clinically\, Medical Imaging plays a\nvital role in demonstrating the absence of intracranial blood flow and facilitating conversations\naround organ donation. \n“Medical Imaging: A role in brain death” by Shannon Crick\, outlines the physiology of brain death\,\ndiagnosis and reviews the imaging recommendations of the Australia and New Zealand Intensive\nCare Society on brain death.
