Join the ANZ branch of the IAFR for their next webinar \u201cNon-accidental Injury (NAI)\u201d presented by Queensland Children\u2019s Hospital (QCH). \u2018\u2019<\/p>\n

In this webinar Dr Gillian Long and Fiona Franklin will introduce NAI, injuries suspicious of
\nNAI and explain how it is diagnosed at QCH. The imaging pathway, examination challenges,
\nprotocol and positioning of patients will be explored. The Radiologist\u2019s perspective on
\ninterpreting images in cases of NAI, providing a statement to the police and being an expert
\nwitness in court will be discussed.<\/p>\n

Gillian\u00a0L<\/span>ong is Radiologist who works at Queensland Children\u2019s Hospital in Brisbane and also <\/span>with IMED Radiology at Redcliffe.<\/p>\n

Gillian has previously worked at both the Royal Children\u2019s and the Mater Children\u2019s Hospitals in Brisbane, and at Sheffield Children\u2019s Hospital in\u00a0<\/span>England. Gillian graduated from the University of Southampton and pursued a\u00a0var<\/span>iety of <\/span>clinical positions in England including Paediatrics and General Practice before training in <\/span>Radiology and spending<\/span>\u00a0a year as a Paediatric Radiology Fellow at British Columbia <\/span>Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.\u00a0 Gillian has a broad range of interests across many <\/span>branches of Paediatric Radiology and across all modalities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fiona Franklin Radiographer Advanced Educator \u2013 Queensland Children\u2019s Hospital
\nFiona has been a radiographer for over 20 years, studying at Christchurch Institute of <\/span>Technolo<\/span>gy, and working in mostly large public hospitals starting in Dunedin, New Zealand, <\/span>before moving to Sydney, over to London, and then back to Brisbane. Fiona has worked in General Radiography and MRI as well as specialising in paediatrics after starting at the Mater Children\u2019s Hospital in 2007, and then moving to the Queensland Children\u2019s Hospital when it opened in 2014. Since then as well as working in the education team Fiona has developed a passion for staff mental health and wellbeing before moving <\/span>into the role of radiographer advanced educator in 2022. She is hoping to complete her Research master\u2019s degree by the end of this year, studying paediatric medical imaging staff mental health and wellbeing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
