In this role, she\noversees the independent investigations of approximately 1700 deaths and\nconducts around 250 inquests each year. Her primary role is to find the cause\nof a sudden or unnatural death by asking witnesses, public bodies and\npathologists questions in court and may make recommendations to prevent similar\ndeaths in the future. She has also been the incident coroner for mass fatalities\nsuch as MH17 (the Malaysian Aircraft shot down over Ukraine), the Sri Lankan\nEaster terrorist attacks and the helicopter crash at King Power Stadium in\nLeicester. She pioneered post-mortem CT scanning and championed organ donation.\nHer career has been defined by compassion, innovation, and an unwavering\ncommitment to justice \u2013 a legacy that has transformed the coroner\u2019s service and\ntouched countless lives. He is currently Senior Tutor in radiography at Queen Mary University of London and Senior Lecturer in Forensic Radiography at Cranfield University, as well as working part-time as a radiographer at Lymington Hospital in Hampshire and PMCT radiographer at the East London Forensic Centre. \nHe is internationally recognised for his work in forensic radiography and has published many scientific papers, textbooks and textbook chapters. He gained his PhD by Published Work in 2020 in the development of standards and standard operating procedures in forensic radiography.\nHe is a founder board member of both the International Association of Forensic Radiographers (IAFR) and the International Society of Forensic Radiology and Imaging (ISFRI) and a founder editorial board member of the Journal of Forensic Imaging. He holds the Diploma of Forensic Medical Sciences and the Diploma of Forensic Human Identification and is a member of the Chartered Forensic Science Society, the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the British Association for Forensic Odontology. Her current practice is exclusively focused on forensic post-mortem micro-CT imaging. Dr Primeau\u2019s expertise supports homicide and serious crime investigations across UK police forces, in cases involving child and vulnerable adult abuse, sharp and blunt force trauma, strangulation, and dismemberment. Her research interest is particularly centred on forensic imaging in the context of child and elder abuse. She has a dual background as a diagnostic radiographer and as a certified forensic anthropologist (FA Level III) with the Royal Anthropological Institute (RAI) of the UK. Clinically, Laura is a Specialist Paediatric Radiographer with over 10 years' experience in dedicated children's imaging centres. Laura also holds an MSc in Forensic Imaging from Teesside University, and has extensive experience with both living &amp; deceased paediatric forensic &amp; Post-mortem imaging. Laura Co-directs the Portsmouth Child Death Immersion Programme- a multidisciplinary event bringing together medical &amp; law enforcement professionals to investigate a child death in an immersive simulated environment.
