A PhD study based at the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital in Melbourne found that Clown Doctors\u00a0\u201chave an ability to connect with people quickly and genuinely, to make people feel heard and understood, to remove any perceived disparity of power and simply engage as individuals.\u201d<\/div>\n
Clown Doctors are serious about their silliness. They are a valuable contributor to a compassionate, well-functioning health system. With their help, people are more receptive to care, and clinical care procedures are more efficient.<\/div>\n

In this presentation we will explore the principles which underpin the capacity of Clown Doctors to make quick and strong connection with patients and families, and their practical application to supporting patients during medical procedures, including medical imaging and forensic examinations.<\/div>\n
