It is with great sadness that the IAFR learned that our Patron, Gil Brogdon passed away last week. Professor Brogdon has been described as the “Father of Forensic Radiology” and worked tirelessly to promote the forensic imaging as a speciality in its own right. He will be remembered as the driving force behind so many initiatives in the field, encouraging and promoting the work of others as well as by his own enormous contribution through his many books, papers and presentations. He was a great friend and supporter of IAFR and recognised the importance of the role of the radiographer in forensic imaging and we were honoured by his attendance at our conferences. Above all he will be remembered by all who met him as both warm and generous, always making time to share his expertise and chat with anyone who asked him and encourage them in their endeavours – a true gentleman who will be sadly missed by us all.
