Challenges of Post-Mortem Radiology – Prof. Tania Grgurich

Tania Grgurich, DHSc, MHS, RT(R)(M)(CT) ARRT is a Clinical Associate Professor and Computed Tomography Clinical Coordinator for Quinnipiac University’s (Hamden, CT. USA) Radiologic Sciences and Advanced Medical Imaging and Leadership Programs.  Since 2005, Prof. Grgurich has also volunteered as a Radiology Consultant for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington, Connecticut, USA.

Post-mortem radiography is an extremely valuable part of the autopsy process, providing information regarding the number and location of projectiles or foreign bodies within a victim, giving clues as to the shape of an object or the direction of the force that caused an injury, determining accidental versus non-accidental trauma, and aiding in the identification of individuals.  Forensic radiographers are aware that post-mortem imaging presents its own unique challenges that differ greatly from those of clinical radiography. This webinar will examine the value of post-mortem radiography and will introduce a variety of cases and challenges as well as some troubleshooting tips and tricks that can be added to your forensic radiography toolbox!
