This webinar explores possible effects radiographers may experience when repeatedly exposed pain and tragedy in the course of our work and highlight the increasing need for radiographers to be aware of how the stress of their work may affect them, be it on a conscious or unconscious level. The Wounded Healer concept is a central theme to understand why certain people are attracted to caring professions. By exploring the background and environments where radiographers find themselves, and through definitions of stress, burnout and debrief (terms well known in the nursing and support professions), our own responses may be recognised and understood and emotional intelligence learned.
